  • Information Ökaryotlarda kromozom uçlarında tekrarlı uzun nükleotit dizilerinden oluşan, herhangi bir gen kodlamayan, kromozom uçlarının bozulmasını veya komşu kromozomlarla birleşmesini önleyen, her hücre bölünmesi sürecinde bir kromozom eşleşmesi sırasında kısalarak uç kısımlarda bulunan genlerin zarar görmesini engelleyen, böylece hücrenin biyolojik saatini belirleyen kromozomların uç kısmı.
