  • Information Componente de las unidades de tratamiento de un sistema de cultivo, donde tiene lugar la extracción de la materia orgánica y donde son convertidos (en general por oxidación) los subproductos metabólicos disueltos como resultado de la actividad microbiológica. Los procesos más importantes son la degradación de materia orgánica por obra de bacterias heterotróficas y la oxidación de los amoníacos que pasan de nitritos a nitratos.
