  • Information Interventions culturales visant à la mise en place du profil cultural et du début de la réalisation du lit de semences : fabrication d'états structuraux permettant le passage du semoir, l'enracinement et la croissance des plantules. Au sein de ce système, cinq domaines du sol peuvent être considérer : (1) la surface du sol, (2) l'interface entre le sol et l'atmosphère, (3) le lit de semence, (4) la couche superficielle ameublie, (5) les couches sous-jacentes au lit de semences. Seront également considérés ici le labour on non-labour, ainsi que les différents effets des interventions culturales (ornière, tassement du sol, effets des pièces travaillantes, du passage du semoir...) et l'évolution de l'état structural du sol après semis, ainsi que son évolution en fonction des aléas météorologiques (ex. formation de croûtes de battance).

  • Information Tillage aims to create a soil environment favourable to plant growth (Klute 1982). Definitions of tillage vary. According to Lal (1979a, 1983) it is defined as physical, chemical or biological soil manipulation to optimize conditions for germination, seedling establishment and crop growth. Ahn and Hintze (1990), however, define it as any physical loosening of the soil carried out in a range of cultivation operations, either by hand or mechanized. Soil manipulation can change fertility status markedly and the changes may be manifested in good or poor performance of crops (Ohiri and Ezumah 1991). In addition, tillage operations loosen, granulate, crush or compact soil structure, changing soil properties such as bulk density, pore size distribution and composition of the soil atmosphere that affect plant growth.
