  • Information A management-ignited fire or a wildfire that burns within prescription, meaning that the fire is confined to a predetermined area and produces the fire behaviour and characteristics required to attain planned fire treatment and/or resource management objectives. The act or procedure of setting a prescribed fire is called prescribed burning.
